With the 2016 festival season now firmly behind us, it’s time to start looking ahead to what 2017 has to offer and so far it’s shaping up nicely.
World renowned Folk Rockers Fairport Convention have just been announced as one of the headline acts for 2017’s first festivals.
Next year will see the band celebrate 50 years in the music industry and they will be bringing their 50th-anniversary tour to Belfast’s Black Box on the 27th January 2017 as part of the annual Out To Lunch Festival.
Famous for developing the careers of Sandy Denny and Richard Thompson, Fairport Convention evolved into a musical family who’s current members include folk alumni such as Dave Pegg (Ex Jethro Tull), Gerry Conway (Ex Fotheringay/Jethro Tull) and founding member Simon Nicol.
Tickets for this unique event showcasing 50 years of Fairport Convention, as well as a section of other shows, are on sale now from Out To Lunch.
