Belfast Busk in Memory of Glen Hansard

"No Harbour To The Sorrow", Belfast Busk in Memory of Glen Hansard Ulster Hall, 3rd November

Glen Hansard's death in July of this year left a huge hole in the musical world. A wonderful talent, taken way too soon.

A teller of tales, a purveyor of hope, and a weaver of dreams. A songwriter of incredible depth and a live performer unmatched in his ability to raise the spirit.

He was also an advocate for the most vulnerable in our society and was at the forefront of attempts to address the homelessness crisis on this island.

Glen was due to play at the Ulster Hall tonight, Tuesday 3rd November.

In celebration of his life and legacy, A busk is planned by a group of his fellow musicians to commemorate his life in song outside the venue on the night – “No harbour to the sorrow”

Fittingly, proceeds from the busk will go to The Simon Community, a charity that works alongside people experiencing homelessness and that Glen supported for many years.

There is an open invite for all to come along and raise our communal voices for the much-missed troubadour, and to his lasting legacy.
