Kate Rusby announces new single and shows

Award-winning folk act Kate Rusby announces a string of Irish dates for the autumn to accompany the release of her latest single 'Only Desire'.

Renowned award-winning folk singer Kate Rusby has just released a new single and announced a series of Irish concerts to take place this autumn.

It’s hard to believe that Rusby has been on the folk scene for almost a quarter of a century and in that time she has won numerous awards such as Folk Singer of the Year, Best Live Act and Best Original Song winner at the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards. She’s as well known for her original compositions as her ability to find and breathe life into old and often forgotten traditional folk songs.

The new single ‘Only Desire’ is based on an old French folk song and Rusby has given it her own unique take by re-writing the melody and adding some additional lyrics topped off with her warm vocal.

October will also see Rusby release her 14th studio album ‘Life In A Paper Boat’ and undertake a supporting tour of the Uk and Ireland.

Kate Rusby will play the following Irish dates:

30th October 2016 – Belfast Grand Opera House
31st October 2016 – Limerick University Concert Hall
1st November 2016 – Dublin, National Concert Hall
