Kaz Hawkins plays A New Day

East Belfast blues powerhouse Kaz Hawkins is hitting the road this summer with her 'Band Of Men' and adds A New Day Festival to her already busy itinerary.

With a new album in post production East Belfast’s very own Blues power house Kaz Hawkins and her band of men have been confirmed to play at one of the newest and most exciting music festivals in England this summer.

A New Day Festival will take place in the scenic surroundings of Mt Ephraim Gardens in Faversham, Kent. The event will run from Friday 5th August through to the evening of Sunday 7th August. Confirmed headline acts are  Wilko Johnson, Jethro Tull’s Ian Anderson and The Stranglers.

Also on the bill are the fabulous Blockheads, folk legends Steeleye Span, prog-rockers Focus, and guitar virtuoso Martin Barre.

We briefly caught up with Kaz who had this to say about the festival.

The Kaz Hawkins Band are so humbled to be performing at A New Day Festival with so many legends of music. To be representing Northern Ireland on our ‘Feelin’ Good’ UK Tour is a great honour and we especially can’t wait to rub shoulders with the likes of Wilko, Ian Anderson & The Stranglers.

Three day tickets are priced at the very reasonable £89.00 and with the festival organisers promising glamping, Morris Dancing, kids activities and, most important of all “well stocked bars with sensible prices – definitely NOT £4 a pint”, we recommend checking this one out as it could well be the jewel in the crown of the summer festival season.
