Madrid born singer-songwriter Juana Everett releases single ‘Bring Me Back’

Singer-songwriter Juana Everett releases single, 'Bring Me Back' taken from new album, 'Past Lives In California', due in 2026

'Bring Me Back' is her second single from 'Past Lives In California', her new album to be released in 2026 after spending almost a decade living in the West Coast and Nashville.

After almost a decade living on the other side of the pond, Everett romanticizes the memories of her childhood and adolescence. This song feels like a daydream of the past, and of times when life was simpler and only the present moment mattered. Everett’s voice pleads to get back to that curious and playful spirit, and that contentment with everyday life: a ride on a bike, the soft breeze of Spring time, the smiley eyes of her mother. ‘Bring Me Back’ has a strong sense of yearning, and a strong positive feeling at the same time, coming from her full-hearted voice. The instrumental arrangements and backing vocals carry timeless Nashville sounds mixed with Everett’s lively California spirit, creating a sonic time capsule that takes you away on a dreamy journey to simpler times we all may miss.

In Juana Everett’s words: “I miss that girl whose innocence was in a way a sort of lost wisdom, because she didn’t need much to be happy. I know she’s still somewhere, and that she wouldn’t waste time thinking about her role in the world like I do now, she would just enjoy it. Nostalgia has always been a part of me though. I’ve always felt a sort of longing and had a tendency to get lost in my thoughts and certain emotional states that are like a little refuge to me. I believe nostalgia can be sweet too, even when it has that drop of missing something that will never be again. This is one of my favourite songs on the album because I think we really captured that sensation of old, happy memories, that are distant and a little tinted in blue”.

The music video for ‘Bring Me Back’ shot and edited by Jesse Weeden, is a window into the song’s live recording at Middletree Studios in Nashville, where Juana Everett, together with Alex Muñoz (Margo Price, Nikki Lane, John Hiatt), Joe Pisapia (Kacey Musgraves, Allison Russell, Jonathan Wilson) and Jamie Dick (Rhiannon Giddens, Dawn Landes, Gill Landry), shape the tune with amazing chemistry and spontaneity. This single, as well as all the songs in the album, were mastered by wizard Dave McNair (Bob Dylan, Patti Smith, R.E.M.).
