It seems like only yesterday when we joined East Belfast’s newest Knight of the Realm in his 70th birthday celebrations on Cyprus Avenue and unlike many other septuagenarians, Van it seems has no intention of slowing down anytime soon.
Having just released his 36th studio album ‘Keep Me Singing’ to rave reviews, Van appears to be much more at ease and comfortable performing than ever before.
He’s been playing small intimate shows across Northern Ireland and genuinely seems to enjoy the closeness to the fans as was in evidence recently when it was reported that he asked the audience to move closer at an intimate hotel show on the outskirts of Belfast.
His undiminished popularity and appreciation amongst his fan base is clearly evident by how quickly these intimate shows sell out leaving many disappointed.
In an announcement which will no doubt delight his followers, Van has just announced a pre-Xmas show in Belfast’s Waterfront Hall on the 18th December.
Tickets go on sale on Friday 23rd September from the Waterfront Hall and Ticketmaster and with set lists that include many old classics mixed with the promise of new material from his recent record this show is sure to sell out as many fans write early letters to Santa looking for a pre-Xmas treat.
