Popular folklore tells us that that wise men come from the East. In East Belfast it’s Bluesmen that come from the East.
The Woodstock Rhythm and Blues Festival returns to East Belfast on the 12 of August and runs until the 19th of August. Now in its 8th year the line-up features performances by the legendary Chris Farlowe (sold out), Rab McCullough, Mercy Lounge, Grainne Duffy, Ronnie Greer, Ken Haddock and Anthony Toner. There’s also eight free gigs spread across the festival and with venues as diverse as The Black Box, Willowfield Parish Church, The Longfellow Bar, SD Bells and The John Hewitt, it goes without saying that the festival is reaching a bigger audience every year. As well as all the great musical talent on offer this year we also noticed that there’s a new tipple of choice at this year’s festival. Roundstone Irish Ale, a new Red Ale from Tennent’s NI.
Full details of all the gigs and venues can be found over on the festival website.
