Her Silo - AKA - Jessica Lambert is due to release her debut solo record in February 2020. Working with producer Joshua James, Lambert has created a unique sound that has the emotional sparseness of Springsteen’s ‘Nebraska’ mixed with the melodic sound of Phil Spector and the edge of Britpop producer Stephen Brian Street.

Lambert’s lyrics are honest, personal and cover a wide range of subject material. Anxiety, depression, and loneliness are all expressed through the music and lyrics, yet thanks to Lambert’s melodic guitar playing and the emotive range and phrasing in her vocals ‘Don’t Forget The Heart That’s Beating’ isn’t by any means a depressing listen. In fact, it is the opposite. If there is a message, it is that change is eternal, and life is an ever-changing palette of colour. Some are light and some dark, but light always comes after dark.

With such strong material on the record, it is hard to find a filler in the collection. ‘Bones’, ‘Bring Me Down’, and ‘I Don’t Need Saving’ really struck a chord.

‘Don’t Forget The Heart That’s Beating’ is a powerful album that combines mature insightful lyrics with melodic music that connects with the listener on a very personal level. The debut album from Her Silo is out on 21st February 2020.
