As they embark on the final run of tour dates celebrating the 'Hot Nostalgia Radio' Tour, Beaux Gris Gris & The Apocalypse release a stunning live record that's bombastic and in your face, just like the band.
Recorded at The Corn Exchange in Devizes, ‘Hot Nostalgia Radio Live’ is a 24-track, 2-hour tour de force featuring the band’s explosive performance and unforgettable guest appearances by Jon Amor, Ruzz Evans, original Apocalypse member Emma Jonson, and more. The release will be available in two collector’s formats: a Triple Vinyl Set, or as a Double CD + Blu-Ray Concert Film package (featuring additional songs not included on the album).
“This live record and concert film is the closest you can get to experiencing a Beaux Gris Gris show without being there”, says frontwoman Greta Valenti. “It’s chaos, it’s fun, it’s heart, and it’s exactly what we love to do—connect people through music and energy.”
Co-founder Robin Davey adds, “We wanted to capture the rawness and soul of our live show in its purest form. It’s a celebration of the band, the fans, and the community that has built up around us.”
At Folk & Tumble we’ve been fortunate to catch two shows on this tour (With one more in the diary) and we can say with good authority that ‘Hot Nostalgia Radio Live’ really does capture the band on fire and at the top of their game.
‘Hot Nostalgia Radio Live’ features an expanded band line featuring Stephen Mildwater: Bass, Backing Vocals, Sam Robertson: Keys, Piano, Accordion, Backing Vocals , Emma Jonson: Keys, Piano, Tom Rasulo: Drums, Backing Vocals and the Horns of The Apocalypse: Alex Jefferis (UK), Steve Fidler (Trombone), Patrick Leith (Baritone Sax). Special guests include: Jon Amor & Ruzz “Guitar” Evans.
As always frontwoman Greta Valenti holds the audience in the palm of her hand as she and guitarist Robin Davey lead the band in a masterclass of live performance. There are far too many highlights to mention here, but stand out performances include blistering versions of ‘What’s My Name’, ‘Louisiana Good Ride’, ‘Troubles Coming’ and ‘Wild Woman’.
Sheer brilliance.
