Jealous of the Birds is the gloriously lo-fi, alt-folk musings of Naomi Hamilton. Hailing from County Armagh in Northern Ireland, a real hotbed for contemporary cool with acts like Ciaran Lavery and No Oil Paintings emerging from the suburban folk scene, she’s making impressions and winning over fans in her own quiet way.
We first heard her debut LP ‘Capricorn’, on the recommendation of Sam Duckworth, who you may remember gigging under the moniker of Get Cape Wear Cape Fly a few years back. Trawling the internet hasn’t uncovered much about this young enigma other than the aforementioned stunning album and this lovely quote, which should apply to every song ever written.
My only hope is that the songs sound like a real friend talking.
