Festivals have come a long way in the last few years. When we first started going to big summer shows it was cheap, watered down beer and ageing behemoths of rock but now festival promoters are going further to make sure their festival stands out from the crowd and at Folk and Tumble we’re going further, literally, to support these indie newcomers to the scene. Good tunes, check. Good booze, check. Good weather, well here’s hoping.
This August Bank Holiday we’re off to Southsea in our optimistic shorts and wellies for the locally run two-dayer, Victorious Festival. Locally run since 2012, this year sees the organisers boast their biggest ever lineup with acts such as Seasick Steve, Tom Odell, Ocean Colour Scene, Dan Le Sac and Scroobius Pip, Lucy Spraggan, Foy Vance, Public Service Broadcasting… Oh we could go on… There’ll be Moshi Monsters to keep the kids entertained, vintage boutiques to browse and you’ll likely find us being propped up by a stool at the Real Ale Festival within the festival.
Victorious is situated on the seafront at Southsea, just outside the historic city of Portsmouth and for the exceptionally low ticket price of only £20 per day you get all the fun of the seaside thrown in with all the great festival entertainment.
