Founding member of the Beach Boys, Brian Wilson is set to begin an official autobiography, writing alongside journalist Jason Fine. Simply entitled ‘I Am Brian Wilson’ the book will detail the highs and lows of his personal life and career and is due for release in 2015.

According to his website, the book will:

describe for the first time the epic highs and lows of his life – from his tumultuous relationship with his father, the loss of his mother and brothers, his fears about live performance, the struggles he faced to lead the Beach Boys away from surf music into groundbreaking, experimental terrain, to his remarkable personal and professional comeback from drug addiction and mental illness with the support of his second wife Melinda.

News of another book may confuse eager Wilson fans who have already read the 1991 ‘Wouldn’t It Be Nice’. This book however has gone down in music circles as highly controversial, written as Wilson was completing unorthodox treatment with his therapist at the time and he has since confessed to having neither read nor approved the final manuscript.

‘I Am Brian Wilson’ looks set to be an altogether more personal account of the stars turbulent life. Published by Coronet, you can expect to pick up a copy sometime in 2015.
