Damien Rice Announces New Record

Irish songwriter Damien Rice breaks an eight year musical hiatus with new of a new record 'My Favourite Faded Fantasy', die for release on 3rd November 2014.

It’s been a while since we last heard anything from Irish songwriter Damien Rice. It’s been eight long years since Brit-nominated ‘9’, which followed the stunning debut ‘O’ but Rice returns this Autumn with a new record entitled ‘My Favourite Faded Fantasy’, due for release on 3rd November 2014.

The title track premiered on BBC Radio 1 last night but if you missed it you can hear it here via Spotify.

Speaking about the eight year hiatus, Rice said:

Sometimes you have to step away from what you love in order to learn how to love it again.

The first single taken from the album is due to be ‘I Don’t Want To Change You’, which will premier later this month and from what we hear so far it seems no one has changed the Irish man, nor made his songs any less emotionally turbulent and melodically soaring.

You can pre-order ‘My Favourite Faded Fantasy’ here.
