The latest new talent on the Dublin scene is Maria Kelly. Already a gifted writer she has been composing songs since the age of ten growing up in Mayo, Ireland. Now signed to Veta Records, the hard work put in durig those formative years has not been in vain with comparisons already being drawn with the likes of Lucy Rose, Daughter and Soak.
Her first track on Veta Records id ‘Before It Has Begun’, the emotional, heart on sleeve story of the beginning of and end. Vocally it’s fragile and vulnerable but make no mistake, there’s a real talent here and an ability to spin a great tale interwoven with the kind of melody that seems to trip of the tongue of the Dublin songwriters.

Maria has already supported the likes of Orla Gartland and Wyvern Lingo and has graced the stages of some of Dublin finest venues; Whelan’s, The Button Factory, The Workman’s Club and Cyprus Avenue, Cork and the Rosin Dubh in Galway. Look out for her on many more stages throughout 2016 as she completes work on her next EP.
