Ivor Novello nomination for Bear’s Den

Indie folksters pick up an Ivor Novello Award nomination for the Andrew Davie penned 'Above The Clouds Of Pompeii'. Watch out for news from the winners next month.

‘Above The Clouds Of Pompeii’ by Bear’s Den has been nominated for an Ivor Novello Award. Written by Andrew Davie, the track features on the Londoners’ debut album, ‘Islands’, released on Communion Records earlier this year.

It’s one of three tracks shortlisted in the ‘Best Song Musically and Lyrically’ category. The winners will be announced at a prestigious awards ceremony in London’s Grosvenor House Hotel on 21st May. This year marks the 60th anniversary of the Ivor Novello Awards.

It’s a huge honour to be nominated for such a prestigious award and I feel very humbled by it. The Ivor Novellos are so special and unique, given that the awards are voted for by songwriters. It means so much to me and our band Bear’s Den that Above the Clouds Of Pompeii has been nominated.
