Mairearad Green grew up in The Summer Isles in the Scottish Highlights and the folk traditions of the land have shaped the sound and craft of the young Scots’ writing. Back in 2014, she spent weeks researching the poetry, folklore and stories of the island and used these influences to create a compelling, cinematic record steeped in Highland traditions in ‘Summer Isles’. Like all good Celtic lore, these stories were made to be told and you can catch Mairearad on the road this summer to hear more from the isles.
