There’s something about autumnal evenings and the flickering of a candlelit church that makes music all the more warm, enveloping and homely. When County Down songwriter Matt McGinn is the songsmith behind the tunes, no such sundries are required but work in harmony to create that special atmosphere that an event such as this demands.
Wednesday 19th November will see Matt, along with a full band, release the record ‘Latter Day Sinner’ in front of the pulpit in St George’s Church, Belfast. Kicking off at 8.00pm sharp with support from the hugely talented Ben Glover, this show will neither be seeking permission nor begging forgiveness. Expect some raw emotion, heartstrings to be tugged upon and expect to be moved in a way you might not expect from a night in an old church building.
Tracks from ‘Latter Day Sinner’ have already seen live performances at the Electric Picnic Festival this year and have piqued the interest of US TV drama writers. Two years in the making, finely honed on the road, ‘Latter Day Sinner’ is ready for release. Are you ready to answer the call?
