Autumn and Winter 2016 is looking good for London indie-folk outfit Matthew and the Atlas.
They’ve just unveiled details of an acoustic album, set for release o 23rd December on the Communion label. As if that wasn’t enough, they’ll be headlining the Sofar Sounds tour around the UK in September before supporting the phenomenal Bear’s Den on their UK and European tour.
Following a summer with stand-out sets at Citadel and British Summer Time festivals, Matthew and the Atlas are set to release an acoustic version of ‘Temple’. The original album featured eleven hugely personal tracks and this stripped back version will bring all the power and emotion of the lyrics to the fore.
Every two weeks, Matthew and the Atlas will roll out a new acoustic tune for the album. You can listen to ‘On A Midnight Street’ here.
The acoustic Sofar Sounds tour kicks off in early September with shows in Leed, Manchester, Liverpool, London and Newcastle. As with all Sofar Sounds shows, these will be unique, intimate shows and venues will be revealed on the day.
November will see the band hit the road with Communion stable-mates Bear’s Den including their biggest show to date at Brixton Academy, London on Tuesday 8th November.
