If you’re new to the music of Nicole Atkins, you could do worse than check out her recent re-working of Guns’n’Roses’ ‘November Rain’. Recorded with Mark Lanegan, the rock ballad has become something of a honky-tonk slow-dance.
Atkins’ soft, sweet tones and Lanegan’s gruff baritone burn like a late night bourbon. The results are just as pleasant and moreish.
