Regular readers know by now that we’re huge fans of Blissfields Festival, which takes place each July on Vicarage Farm, Woodmancott near Winchester in the Hampshire Countryside. This year’s lineup is impressive as ever featuring huge names including John Grant, The Horrors, Simian Mobile Disco, Grandmaster Flash and over 150 other singers, performers, DJs, comedians and poets.
This year’s festival takes place from 2nd – 4th July and in the last week they’ve introduced DJ Yoda to the bill which prompted pub talk over the weekend about the greatest “Cut and Paste” record of the last decade.
Far and away our favourite aspect of the Blissfields experience is that friendly family feel. Whether late night raving in The Hidden Hedge or chilling to acoustic beats in The Larch on a sunny afternoon, you feel like you’re amongst friends. Great acts, superb ales and beers, bloody lovely people. With only a 5,000 person capacity, you feel like you always belong but you also have to get a move on, get over to the Blissfields site and get your ticket now.
Still not convinced? Folk and Tumble have trawled through the entire programme and compiled a playlist of the best folk, acoustic, Americana and folk-punk for you to enjoy at this year’s Blissfields.
