New York jazz pianist Scott Bradlee may have struggled to break the big time back in 2011 but since then he, and his band Postmodern Jukebox have become nothing short of a global sensation.
With piano-led, vintage-pop mashups, they provide a unique take on today’s pop standards with an old-time feel. I’ve been known to rave on about the band’s brilliance and I’m far from the only one. Since uploading their first video, Postmodern Jukebox has racked up more than 580 million views on YouTube.
The rotating collective of musicians features several vocalists from the hit show American Idol amongst their ranks. From swing, doo-wop, ragtime, Motown, folk and rock-and-roll, their interpretations of pop hits need to be heard to be believed.
Scott Bradlee’s Postmodern Jukebox play Belfast’s Waterfront Hall on 5th March and Dublin’s Vicar Street on 6th and 7th March 2017. Further tour dates and ticket information are available on the Postmodern Jukebox website.
