Steady Hands Belfast Show

Philadelphia's Sean Huber plays under the name of Steady Hands and brings his blend of folk and punk to Northern Ireland this September.

Belfast’s Sunflower Bar boasts regular folk gigs although the events upstairs aren’t always of the most sedate nature. Since featuring as the backdrop for the Harp Bar scenes in Good Vibrations The Movie, the bar has become something of a mecca for older music fans and in particular those of a punkier persuasion.

Step up Sean Huber, armed with acoustic guitar and a love of punk. His first visit to Irish shores was to produce a documentary on the indigenous punk scene and when he’s not beating the kit for US rockers Modern Baseball he’s hitting the road with a head full of acoustic tunes and a heart full of rock and roll. Since releasing the ‘Libertines EP’ under the name of Steady Hands, Sean has been gaining a following in every town he visits around the globe. If you like Chuck Ragan, Frank Turner, The Weakerthans or The Gaslight Anthem you’ll be as big a fan as I am.

Support for the show comes from Dubliner Stu Daly, former bassist with Chewing on Tinfoil who’s mellowed out considerably but still retains that punk edge and Empty Lungs‘ frontman Kev Jones fresh from his support slot with Alkaline Trio.

Three acoustic performances from three exceptional rock and roll musicians. What else would you do with a Sunday evening?
