Sunshine Social are six multi-instrumentalists from Glasgow hitting the slightly more folk-driven end of the huge spectrum that is indie-pop. With heaps of soul, brooding atmosphere and more intimate acoustic moments in the mix, this young band can easily grace the stage at your local open mic night, a riotous outdoor festival stage or a sell-out show in their local King Tut’s venue.
They cite influences ranging from Arcade Fire to Al Green but you can’t help detect many years listening to the Scottish greats like Belle and Sebastien and Frightened Rabbit or even newer gunslingers on the scene like Three Blind Wolves.
The band are currently planning a UK tour for early 2015 in support of their new album, which will be preceded on 7th December 2014 by a lead single ‘The Brace’. If you’re as excited as we are to hear the new material then you’ll enjoy this heartfelt little preview the band have kindly sent us.
