Bank Holiday weekends are a great excuse to kick back by the coast, enjoy a tasty ale and some excellent tunes and once again the historic seafront of Southsea looks like the perfect place to do it this August. Victorious Festival returns on 29th and 30th August for another year with its biggest lineup to date.
We visited last year and spent a day exploring all sorts of acoustic excellence and real ales before letting Seasick Steve and Slow Club steal the show. With access to the festival, the D-Day Museum, a skate park and kids area all included in the ticket price; the idyllic venue is as much a part of this festival as the music.
This year’s headliners are The Flaming Lips and Ray Davies, two outstanding legends of differing styles and generations but both massive names more than capable of holding their own on the main stage of any festival. The undercard is packed with outstanding acts, mostly from around the UK and as always the smaller stages are a treasure trove of local acts and unsigned gems.
Mostly we’re excited at the prospect of seeing the likes of The Magic Numbers, Rae Morris, Grant Nicholas, Ben Ottewell, Sam Duckworth, Michele Stodart and the mighty Hayseed Dixie. We’ll be putting all our favourites in a special preview playlist soon but until then you can keep an eye on the festival website for the latest news and updates to the already fantastic lineup.
Tickets for Victorious Festival 2015 are fantastic value starting at under £30 per day – a lot of other festivals and promoters could take note. Real music, real ale, and a very real chance that we’ll end up dancing down the front to Tinie Tempah.
