American songwriter Willy Mason is the latest act added to this year’s Bushstock lineup which already boasts the likes of Theme Park and Ethan Johns. Mason released his hotly anticipated third studio record ‘Carry On’ towards the end of 2012 marking his first release on Fiction Records; home of Elbow, White Lies, Snow Patrol and others.
I think of this record as the third and final chapter to a particular narrative that started with Where the Humans Eat. It’s a narrative that’s loosely based on me, on my character through performance, and I think that by completing this album, I’m sort of closing the door on that and opening up a whole new world of possibilities.
Bushstock takes place in Shepherd’s Bush, London on June 1st and is run by Communion Records so you can expect some excellent music handpicked by the likes of Mumford and Sons’ Ben Lovett and Bear’s Den’s Kevin Jones. Other acts confirmed to date are Bear’s Den, Scott Matthews, Duologue, Post War Years, Fyfe, Serafina Steer, Marika Hackman with more than twenty others on the bill.
The festival takes place across four venues – St Stephen’s Church, The Defectors Weld, Ginglik and Shepherd’s Bar.
