You Make Me – Cory Branan

Self-proclaimed "No Hit Wonder" may have an accidental hit on his hands with the likes of Brain Fallon championing this lovely new 3D video for 'You Make Me'.

It’s taken me a long time to admit that I like country music. Sure I like a songwriter with an acoustic guitar, that’s a given but despite the best efforts of the likes of Garth Brooks, I do still love a little Nashville twang or that little country inflection that’s somewhere between Buddy Holly’s hiccough and a full on Hank Williams yodel. There’s no shame in it.

Neither is there anything to regret in being a kid of the 80s. Remember munching popcorn and watching terrible movies with 3D glasses on? Remember falling for girls and falling hard on the knees? Remember the Viewmaster?

Well, Cory Branan has only gone and brought all this magic together with the help of director Perry Bean. It features Branan rocking out at Machu Picchu, on a Venetian gondola and swooping with all the psychadelica one can muster over oceans and above the clouds.

‘You Make Me’ is layered up to experience in all its glory with the aid of 3D glasses but you know it’s going to look better with them. That’s why Bloodshot Records have printed up 500 pairs of specs to go out with records this week.

It’s not Branan’s first nod back to the 80s but could possibly be his biggest step forward to losing that self-proclaimed ‘No Hit Wonder’ title.
