The Next Storm – Frank Turner

Winchester meets WWE in the new video from Frank Turner, which features retired wrestling superstar CM Punk as well as some catchy hooks and grappling holds.

Ever since Captain Lou Albano tried to cramp Cyndi Lauper’s style in 1984’s ‘Girls Just Wanna Have Fun’, there have been a host of wrestlers cropping up in music videos from Hilbilly Jim and Road Dog Jesse James gettin’ down with Cleatus T Judd to the likes of Chris Jericho swapping the squared circle for the stage.

In the mid 1980s, Hulk Hogan headed up the (then) WWF’s “Rock ‘n’ Wrestling” but now a host of acoustic guitar-slingers are taking folk to the mat. Sam Duckworth released ‘The Real McCoy’ with a wrestling themed video, The Mountain Goats released an entire wrestling inspired concept EP featuring the beautiful ‘Legend of Chavo Guererro’ and now it’s the turn of public-school-punk-rock-troubadour Frank Turner.

Frank has squared up against former WWE champion and current MMA superstar CM Punk for the video for ‘The Next Storm’. Spoiler alert: this is another great anthemic track from Turner. Folk wins. Punk wants a rematch.
