Who is The Eastern?
With a promise of roaring like a punk band, swinging like a gospel band and drinking like a country band, these guys seem like an exciting prospect on paper. I guess you could call it The Eastern Promise. They’ve toured with the greats from Steve Earle to Old Crow Medicine Show and don’t look to be ready to park the tour van just yet.
I want to hear more.
The Eastern average around two hundred live shows a year and this evening we’re off to Bangor to catch their Open House Festival show in Ballyholme Yacht Club. If you’re not lucky enough to get along to one of their hundreds of shows there are three records available, ‘The Eastern’, ‘Arrows’ and ‘Hope & Wire’, all worth checking out and losing yourself in.
